The Goodness of God

Amen and Amen, to both Romams 11:6 and to Matthew West’s Good.  This hit home to me, due to the fact that I asked the Lord into my life at abour 3 or 5 years of age. When you are brought up in a Christian family, you sometimes lean towards feeling like you have to live up to a flawless standard.  In our walk with God, He lovingly reminds us that it comes down to His being good.

His goodness releases us from being chained to the pressure of keeping the law in our own strength (Romans 7:15-25). When we let the Spirit move, focusing on abiding in His love, we will find our evil nature overcome by His goodness. God doesn’t want us operating with a heavy weight on our shoulders.  He wants us to remember how He bore the cross on His shoulders for us.  I was reminded of this as I heard a sermon this Palm Sunday.

The pastor brought up the cute fact that donkeys have a cross shape on their backs.  It is a reminder that the Savior was carried on a donkey in preparation for His crucifixion day.  God writes His reminders into His creation, hosanna to His name!

I praise God He spoke to me this Sunday uplifting me with His goodness!  May we go through this week with our praises on our tongues. He is good and is in love with us. Have a blessed week as you focus on God!
